Partner Family Advocate https://www.letsvolunteer.org/need/detail/?need_id=226023

Works directly with families after they have been selected to partner with Fauquier Habitat for Humanity. Partner Family Advocates are the principal point of contact with current and prospective homeowner families. The committee works to provide a mutual support system to facilitate the transition to homeownership, including educational opportunities in homeownership and maintenance, family finance, and community resources. Many of our committee members maintain close family-like relationships with their partners throughout their entire experience as Habitat homeowners. The Partner Family Advocate Committee meets as needed. Requires background check.

Partner Selection Committeehttps://www.letsvolunteer.org/need/detail/?need_id=226016

In partnership with Fauquier Habitat for Humanity (FHFH) staff, the committee recruits prospective families, screens applications, interviews applicants and their references, visits their current home, assesses readiness and willingness to partner, and recommends applicants for approval into the affiliate’s Partner Family Program. The committee also advises the affiliate on its family selection policies and procedures.

Committee Members will possess knowledge of either the financial review or the home interview processes (though members are encouraged to cross-train). The Partner Selection Committee is charged by the board to make Partner selection recommendations. Periodic training will be held for Partner Selection Committee members so they can stay updated on legal requirements (including the Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and local, state, and federal information), and affiliate operations and activities. Requires Background Check.
